What we did learn-Personal Reflective #5

My Cultural Diversity teacher told me before that the most important material for your personal life to fight the world is Culture diversity, I asked myself why? , after few days I knew that the Culture Diversity is very important for me as my teacher said because it taught me to how to be proud of myself and my own culture, it taught me how to respect other different cultures, it made me keeping want to learn more and more about the different cultures in different places. In culture diversity class I knew the Demographics of the UAE and what is the percentage of the Muslims in the UAE. I learned about Disability insurance, how we should treat them and help them to stand again on their feet. Also Multicultural society, how the different culture deal with each other in one country.  I knew new words that I didn’t know before that concern with culture diversity like: Stereotyping, Prejudice, and Discrimination. Forevermore culture diversity teacher talked about the gap year, What it the gap year? Where we should be in our own gap year? And why? The last things that I took are the examples of using culture diversity in real life like the example of UAE & Cambodia, and the speech of Barak Obama using body language. This material also made my English skills growing up as I keeping study. I am now better than the first time, I was very weak in grammar and English vocabulary, but now I am better than before, and that because culture diversity (really). A special thanks for my teacher Gregory.

UAE & Cambodia-Personal Reflective #4

Gap year definition is the year between finishing school and starting higher education to entitling you skills for your higher education or even for your own life. There are many benefit of gap year for the students, for example: transport yourself and promote your skill while you living there, taking some responsibility outside, and entitle yourself for studying. The UAE should start sending the students here to outside of country, but I think UAE will be too late will still late because some reasons, one of the reason is our traditions. About myself, I really would to have a gap year in Japan, I want to learn their tradition, language, and the most important for me is to learn the Anime drawing. UAE and Cambodia in the past had no connection, but now UAE and Cambodia have many things that connect between them, for example UAE is import some fruits that we don’t have from Cambodia, on the other hand UAE export the oil to Cambodia and to the other near countries.

I think the two are gaining, children and volunteers. Many people said the volunteers does not gain anything from volunteering because they does not get money or any material things, but that is wrong because the money is not every things. The first two things that volunteers get are respect and trust from the people and the country, also they educate them self with culture diversity, finally get friends. All of us can teach any skill to anybody by their desire if they want or not, that is up to them.

Shock Story-Personal Reflective #3

In the last Eid of October in 2012 ,my cousins and I went to Dubai to have a good time with each other in Wild Wadi the water park. After having a fun time we planed to have a dinner after long day in the JPR (The Walk) at Jumeirah Beach Residence. Dubai at AlEid days was very traffic because the people from every where are coming to Dubai specially from Middle East. Before we been in JPR (The Walk), we got an accident with Emirati guy who was trying to move his car front us to be with his group of friends. After the accident immediately we parked on the right waiting the police, the Emirati was very angry, also he was filthy tongue using many bad words for us, on the other hand we talked to him oppositely, and I think that what made him more angry. But the important part here when he said a few things that injured us and made us like nothing, he said :( We are the sons of the country). We did not understand what does he mean in the first time, but when he said in the second time:(Dubai is our city) he putted a lot of thoughts in our brains, and I said in my self: Are there citizens who live in Dubai thinking like the angry guy? Are there citizens in the other Emirates thinking like that? Are we thinking like that? Are there solutions that make us one hand?

Seven Emirates But One Country
